What Is the Corporate Governance Orientation Program?

The Corporate Governance Orientation Program (CGOP) is a one-day course covering the basic principles, importance, and benefits of modern corporate governance to global, regional, and local initiatives and reform. It also discusses regulatory updates, best practices, and emerging risks and trends in corporate governance. Duties and responsibilities of the Risk Oversight, Audit and Corporate Governance Committees of the Board are also tackled in this training seminar.

CGOP opens the first day of ICD's Professional Directors Program. Attendance at the CGOP also meets one of the prerequisites to become an
Associate Member in ICD.

The CGOP satisfies the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) requirement for first-time directors and bank managers, and meets the recommended best practice of the Revised Corporate Governance Code where first-time directors are advised to undergo eight (8) hours of corporate governance training.

Participants to the CGOP are also encouraged to enroll to ICD's Finance for Directors Program for a complete refresher of Accounting and Finance concepts that are important in the conduct of  Board activities and in driving Board decisions.
