What is the Distinguished Corporate Governance Speaker Series?

 

ICD’s Distinguished Corporate Governance Speaker Series (DCGSS) brings the world’s foremost thinkers and practitioners to help Philippine corporate directors add value to their boards.


This short course supports the goal of the Securities and Exchange Commission represented in The Revised Code of Corporate Governance to encourage the provision and facilitation of relevant annual continual training for board directors.


Our fourth quarter series is entitled “Doing the Laundry and Pilots in a Storm: A Leadership case study for Corporate Directors” with Mr. Chris Lowney.


Mr. Chris Lowney, is a one-time Jesuit seminarian, later served as a Managing Director of JP Morgan & Co in Singapore, Tokyo, London, and New York until leaving the firm in 2001. Chris currently chairs the board of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), ​which is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United States, with more than 100 hospitals and annual revenues of more than US $ 16 Billion.  He is author of five books, including the bestselling Heroic Leadership. His other books include Pope Francis: Why He Leads the Way He Leads; and Everyone Leads: How to Revitalize the Catholic Church.


He will be joined by Mr. Jonathan Juan Dc. Moreno who will speak on Strategy Execution and Atty. Teodoro Kalaw IV who will discuss Sustainability in the Boardroom: A Corporate Director's Roadmap.
