What is the Distinguished Corporate Governance Speaker Series?

ICD’s Distinguished Corporate Governance Speaker Series (DCGSS) brings the world’s foremost thinkers and practitioners to help Philippine corporate directors add value to their boards.

This short course supports the goal of the Securities and Exchange Commission represented in The Revised Code of Corporate Governance to encourage the provision and facilitation of relevant annual continual training for board directors.

This quarter’s series is entitled “Challenges and Drivers of Talent Development:  A Board Perspective” with Prof. Alberto Ribera from IESE Business School, University of Navarra as the speaker.

Professor Alberto Ribera is the academic director of the IESE Coaching Unit and teaches the MBA course “Personality and Leadership”, which earned him the 2009 IESE Award for Excellence.  He also teaches the Global Executive MBA course “Managing Oneself”, and executive courses on self-leadership, relationships management and executive coaching.  He has authored and co-authored nine (9) books and more than thirty (30) case-studies.

Prof. Ribera will speak on the challenges and drivers of talent development from a board perspective in response to the call to address acquisition, development and retention of key talents, critical areas of performance for boards.

He will be joined by Atty. Jose Jesus G. Laurel, who will talk about New Corporate Governance Code: Issues and Challenges on Doing the Right Thing.
